The use of the OpenLogbook is at your own risk. The webpage was very carefully developed but it can not be ruled out that it does not contains any bugs anymore. The administrator of the webpage can not under any circumstances, be hold responsible for any material or immaterial damage caused by the use of this website. It is every users duty to test each part of the functionality of the page before it is used for any 'serious' purpose. The use of OpenLogbook does not mean that any contract is concluded between to operator and the user except that the user agrees to accept this 'Terms of Use'. The operator reserves the right to alter, update, reduce or delete parts of the website or the complete website temporary or for good without any announcement.
Liability claims regarding damage caused by malfunction or the use of any information provided or not provided, including any kind of information which is incomplete or incorrect, will therefore be rejected. All offers are not-binding and without obligation. Parts of the pages or the complete publication including all offers and information might be extended, changed or partly or completely deleted by the operator without separate announcement.
Content
The operator will not be hold responsible for the content of this page. The operator provides only the framework for the user to publish information. User entries reflect the opinion of the user and not the opinion of the operator. The responsibility for the content of any user entry in OpenLogbook lies with the user who created the content. Unacceptable or even questionable content will be removed from the site as soon it is known to the operator without any announcement. In case of any violations against law, copyright, terms of use, modesty, morality or religious feelings the operator reserves the right to delete and ban the yacht or the user immediately from the system without any warning and without the duty to give any explanations.
There are only two languages permitted on OpenLogbook, this are German and English. Publications in any other language will be deleted.
Referrals and links
The operator is not responsible for any contents linked or referred to from his pages - unless he has full knowledge of illegal contents and would be able to prevent the visitors of his site from viewing those pages. If any damage occurs by the use of information presented there, only the operator of the respective pages might be liable, not the one who has linked to these pages. Furthermore the operator is not liable for any postings or messages published by users of logbooks, discussion boards, guest books or mailing lists provided on OpenLogbook.

The copyright for any material created by the operator is reserved. All photographs may be accessed for viewing on our web site only. Any duplication, distribution, modification, circulation, reproduction or other use of objects such as photographs, videos, diagrams, sounds or texts is not permitted without the operator's written agreement. It is strictly prohibited to any user to upload any material where the user does not possess the copyright.
Legal validity
If sections or individual terms of this statement are not legal or correct, the content or validity of the other parts remain uninfluenced by this fact. This TERMS OF USE text in English language is only a simplified translation of the "Nutzungsbedingungen" text in German, which is legally binding. If you are in doubt - please do not hesitate to contact the administrator.
Other Rules
- Every Yacht can only appear once in the list of yachts.
- It is fully to the discretion of the operator whether he accepts a yacht after registration to be published on OpenLogbook.
- A yacht participating free of charge will be removed from the system if there are 30 days after the registration still not any logbook entries or if there are more than 365 days passed since the last logbook entry was created.
- A yacht can create up to 1000 logbook entries for free.
- A yacht paticipating free of charge can upload one image for the yacht, fror each leg and for each logbook entry. The image will be reduced to a size of maximal 200 x 200 pixels.
